Scherenschnitt

A film by Haim Adri, Company Sisyphe Heureux in collaboration with Bettina Neuhaus

'Scherenschnitt' is a film by Haïm Adri in collaboration with Bettina Neuhaus. It is part of 'Anamnèse - Bribes Acte 1' by Haïm Adri, a performance consisting of 3 films and 3 dance soli dealing with different people's relationship to memory including invention, the unspoken and the world of the ancestors.

'In this film made in Munich, Bettina questions her relationship to silence by remembering Ruth Schaumann, her deaf grandmother who was a sculptress and writer and Erna Morena, her grandaunt, actress in the German silent film. Through entering into the life stories of these 2 women, Bettina, witnesses and embodies her permeability, her inner landscape and the presence of her inherited silence allowing the faces of these two remarkable women to reappear. Physical memory and genealogy, the inner sounds and speed of Bettina's internal process and the individuality of the descendant are the main subjects of this film….'. Haïm Adri
