After her graduation in Music and Movement at the Folkwang Hochschule for Music, Dance and Theatre in Essen, Germany and several years experience performing as an oboist, Bettina studied contemporary dance at the Theatreschool in Amsterdam and finished her degree in 1994.

Since then her further development has been inspired by her intensive training with artists such as Julyen Hamilton, Barre Phillips, Simone Forti, Lisa Nelson, Mark Tompkins and David Zambrano.

The study of other approaches to movement such as Aikido and Feldenkrais has enlarged her understanding of the body in motion and has enriched her work as dancer and teacher.
Her search for a dance approach that works on a deeper level, that is more intuitive and involves a poetic approach made her decide in 2001 to study Skinner Releasing Technique™ with Joan Skinner, Seattle, US. Bettina qualified as Skinner Releasing Teacher in 2004.
